WetSand was born in Ventura, California. It was started in 1998 as the first FREE email surf report service, and has evolved into what it is today, supported by a enthusiastic surfing community who’s not interested in paying for over-hyped swell forecasts.

Our Focus...

Our goal is to provide the best free services that Watermen from around the world depend on day-to-day to plan their lives and lifestyle. We believe we have an obligation to balance the way we push the latest technologies in surf forecasting while servicing the community. We don’t just give you forecasts, we teach you how. We don’t spoon feed you video of sensitive breaks, but we do teach you how to read buoy data so you can determine yourself if that spot is working. We’re committed to those Core Surf Values that we believe ground the sport; our environment, our history and culture, product design and development, and surf exploration. They all define a set of Core Surf Values that should guide us all.
